The ELECTRO-VOICE EKX 18S is a passive 18-inch subwoofer for the deepest, most physical low end in the EKX family: an EV-engineered EVS-18C driver in a 15 mm braced-plywood enclosure delivers up to 134 dB peak SPL and reaches 35 Hz (-10 dB).

When the room is big and the music needs to be felt, the EKX 18S lays a passive 18-inch low-frequency foundation under EKX full-range cabinets. Deep, physical low end

The EVS-18C 457 mm driver and large slot ports extend the response to 35 Hz (-10 dB) with 96 dB sensitivity, making the EKX 18S the deepest foundation in the EKX portable line-up.

Building a system

Screw an M20 threaded pole into the pole cup on top of the subwoofer and set an EKX 12 or EKX 15 on it. Linked through the second speaker connector, a subwoofer and full-range pair adds low end without extra amplifier channels: one combination is a 4 Ω nominal load, two are 2 Ω.
