Speaker Connectors: questions and answers

Why use locking speaker connectors?

Locking speaker connectors cannot be pulled out accidentally and protect against touching live contacts, which makes them safer than jack connectors for loudspeakers.

How many poles do I need?

Two-pole wiring is enough for a single passive loudspeaker. Four-pole and eight-pole connectors carry several channels for bi-amped or multi-way systems.

Can I use jack cables for speakers?

Jack connectors are not recommended for loudspeaker connections at high power. Use dedicated speaker cables and connectors.
