Product overview

The SOLID STATE LOGIC SSL 2+ MKII is a 2-in / 4-out USB-C audio interface for collaborative productions, with two SSL-designed microphone pre-amps, Legacy 4K analogue enhancement on each channel, next-gen 32-bit / 192 kHz converters, four balanced outputs, two independent headphone outputs and MIDI I/O.

The original SSL 2+ raised the bar by delivering a level of performance never seen before in its class. SSL 2+ MKII builds on that success with a series of significant enhancements and carefully curated feature additions. Designed for musicians, producers and engineers who demand the highest standards in sound quality, it lets you create separate mixes for the artist and the engineer, connects MIDI keyboards and drum machines, and comes with the SSL Production Pack software bundle.

Class-leading mic amps and Legacy 4K

Two high-performance SSL-designed microphone pre-amps deliver a massive 64 dB gain range with a class-leading 116.5 dB dynamic range and -130.5 dBu EIN, and also work in LINE mode for synths or INSTRUMENT mode for guitars and basses. Legacy 4K distils two essential characteristics of the 4000-series console sound, sweet-sounding harmonic distortion and a 'forward' yet musical high-frequency boost, into a single analogue circuit on each channel.

Four balanced outputs and independent headphones

Four balanced outputs on the rear connect studio monitors (outputs 1-2) plus external headphone amplifiers, effects units, pedals and more (outputs 3-4), all with 120 dB dynamic range and DC-coupled to send control voltages to synthesisers. Headphones A and B on the front each have their own level; with the 3&4 switch engaged, headphones B is fed from outputs 3-4 for a separate artist mix, and can also follow the MIX control.

MIDI, monitoring and loopback

MIDI IN and OUT turn SSL 2+ MKII into a MIDI interface for keyboards, controllers and drum machines. The MIX control blends the zero-latency inputs with computer playback, STEREO monitors stereo sources in stereo, and the built-in stereo loopback lets your audience hear virtual guests or system audio with ease.

In the box
