Product overview
The TASCAM BO-32DE is a rugged 1U rack-mount breakout box for professional installations. Its front-panel Euroblock terminals carry 32 balanced channels, internally linked to four 25-pin D-sub connectors on the rear panel.
It gives a fast, tidy way to wire CD players, digital audio players, mic preamps, zone mixers, distribution amplifiers and audio-over-IP converters into a D-sub based system. The Euroblock terminals are the same for input and output, so inputs and outputs can be assigned freely in groups of eight channels. The supplied Euroblock plugs have tabs, and the cable band kit lets you strap the wires to each tab to reduce stress during connection and disconnection. The D-sub connectors use the TASCAM pin assignment compliant with AES59-2012, and the unit can be rack-mounted facing forward or backward.

Are the Euroblock terminals inputs or outputs?
Both. The Euroblock terminals are the same for input and output, so each group of eight channels can be used as inputs or outputs to suit the system.
Can it be mounted facing backwards?
Yes. The rack-mount ears can be attached so that the unit faces forward or backward in a standard 19-inch rack, and the panel markings support upside-down installation. The ears can also be removed for tabletop use.

Setup
- Mount the BO-32DE in the rack, facing forward or backward to suit the cable runs.
- Loosen the Euroblock plug screws, insert the wires (HOT, COLD, GND from left) and tighten the screws.
- Strap the wires to each plug tab with the supplied cable bands, then fit the plugs to the front panel.
- Connect D-sub multi-cables from the rear connectors to the converter, keeping each eight-channel group in order.
Tip: Use the label space above the connectors to note the signal routing for each channel.

Setup
- Plan which eight-channel groups will be inputs and which will be outputs.
