Ultra HDDA mic preamps with 192 kHz support
High-resolution reproduction in the US-HR series follows TASCAM's aim of recreating sound as close to the original as possible. The in-house Ultra HDDA mic preamp, combined with a newly improved audio circuit, delivers enhanced performance with transparent, low-noise sound: 110 dB S/N ratio and 0.0013% THD+N on the mic inputs, and 56 dB of gain on every input type.
Zero-latency direct monitoring
Direct monitoring sends your input signals to the outputs before they reach the computer, so you hear yourself without delay while recording and performing. The MONITOR BALANCE knob blends the inputs with the computer playback without affecting the recording level. LINE OUT 3-4 can carry the monitor mix or computer outputs 3-4 for a second pair of speakers or an external processor.
Made for podcasts and live streaming
The loopback function returns audio from the computer, such as music or a call, to the streaming software together with your microphones. Inputs and outputs can each be set to stereo or mono, and the BROADCAST Volume slider sets the level of the stream. Loopback works on Windows, Mac and iOS / iPadOS.
Low-latency driver, MIDI and software
The US-HR Settings Panel and the improved TASCAM native driver (ASIO 2.0, WDM and MIDI on Windows; Core Audio and Core MIDI on Mac) give stable, low-latency performance with buffer sizes from 4 samples. MIDI IN and OUT connect keyboards, drum machines and controllers, and can send and receive MIDI timecode. TASCAM bundles DAW software, SampleTank 4 SE with a 30 GB library of more than 2,000 instruments, and a free 3-month Auto-Tune Unlimited subscription.

TASCAM US-4x4HR: frequently asked questions
Does it need a power supply?
With a computer it runs on USB bus power. The included PS-P1220E adapter is used when bus power is not sufficient (the phantom power indicator blinks) and with iOS devices.
Can I plug a guitar in directly?
Yes. Set the MIC/LINE INST switch of IN1 or IN2 to INST and connect a guitar or bass to the TRS jack (1 MΩ input impedance).
Does it work with iPad?
Yes. It works as a class-compliant interface with iPad and other iOS devices. A Lightning device needs a USB camera adapter, and the AC adapter must be connected.
Is it suitable for live streaming?
Yes. The loopback function sends computer audio back to the streaming software with your microphones, in stereo or mono.
