Product overview
The XVIVE U3C Complete Condenser System is a high-fidelity, plug-and-play 2.4 GHz wireless system for condenser microphones, with 12 V or 48 V phantom power supplied by the transmitter.
The U3C is the version of the U3 Microphone Wireless System designed for condenser microphones and any other sound source that needs 48 V or 12 V phantom power, such as active DI boxes or preamps that do not supply phantom power. The transmitter plugs onto the microphone; the receiver connects to a mixer, sound interface, preamp, XLR cable or snake. Audio is 24-bit / 48 kHz with a 20 Hz - 20 kHz (-3 dB) frequency response, 110 dB signal-to-noise ratio, 0.2 % total harmonic distortion and 5 ms latency, over the licence-free 2.4 GHz ISM band with a range of up to 27.5 m (90 ft) in line of sight.
| Phantom power from the transmitter | 12 V / 48 V |
| Digital audio | 24‑bit / 48 kHz |
| Operating range (line of sight) | 27.5 m |
| Latency | 5 ms |
Key features
- Plug-and-play wireless for condenser microphones
- 12 V or 48 V phantom power for the connected microphone, active DI box or preamp
- 24-bit / 48 kHz audio, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 110 dB signal-to-noise ratio
- 2.4 GHz ISM worldwide open band, no licence needed
- 6 switchable channels, up to 6 systems at the same time
- 5 ms latency and 0.2 % total harmonic distortion
- Internal rechargeable batteries: 3-7 hours, depending on the microphone's phantom power current
- USB charging (5 V), usable while charging
The U3C transmitter
The transmitter (U3CT) has an XLR (female) balanced condenser microphone input with a circumferential ground spring and a Mic Lock that secures it to the microphone. Its controls are a phantom power switch (12 V / 48 V), a power switch, a channel switch for channels 1-6 with a channel LED, a power status LED and a USB charging port. It measures 31 x 29 x 98 mm, weighs 107.73 g and has a mute function. Its battery lasts about 7 hours at 12 V / 2 mA, 6 hours at 48 V / 2 mA and 3 hours at 48 V / 5 mA.
The receiver
The U3 receiver of the set has an XLR (male) output, a power switch, a channel switch for channels 1-6 with a channel LED, an RF status LED (on = linked, flashing = signal interference, off = transmitter off or unlinked), a power status LED and a USB port for charging. It measures 98 x 31 x 29 mm, weighs 92 g and runs for up to 5 hours.
Condenser microphones only
The U3C works only with XLR balanced condenser microphones. XVIVE warns never to plug single-ended (unbalanced) or dynamic microphones into the U3C, as they can be permanently damaged if phantom power is applied to them; for dynamic microphones XVIVE makes the U3.
Applications
Singers, presenters and actors can move freely with their condenser microphone. The U3C also serves condenser microphones on harmonicas, violins, trumpets, saxophones and accordions, active DI boxes and preamps without phantom power, and microphones on DSLR cameras, with an adapter between the XLR receiver and the camera's (usually 3.5 mm) audio input.

FAQs
Can I use a dynamic microphone with the XVIVE U3C?
No. The U3C works only with XLR balanced condenser microphones; XVIVE warns that dynamic or unbalanced microphones can be permanently damaged if phantom power is applied to them. For dynamic microphones XVIVE makes the U3.
How long does the U3C battery last?
The specification gives 3-7 hours, depending on the phantom power current of the microphone: about 7 hours at 12 V / 2 mA, 6 hours at 48 V / 2 mA and 3 hours at 48 V / 5 mA. A full charge takes about 2.5 hours over 5 V USB.
How many U3C systems can be used together?
The U3C has 6 switchable channels and up to 6 systems can be used at the same time.
Where can I buy the XVIVE U3C Complete Condenser System in India?
