Product overview

The XVIVE U3D Dual Wireless System for Audio is two U3 Microphone Wireless System sets in one package, for wireless connections from a mixer to powered PA speakers, for faster setup and teardown without cables.

The U3D includes two U3 transmitters and two U3 receivers. Run wirelessly from a PA mixing console to powered main speakers, between powered mains or between powered monitors, in stereo or in multiple mono, or use the two sets with two dynamic microphones. Each set gives 24-bit / 48 kHz audio with a 20 Hz - 20 kHz (-3 dB) frequency response, 110 dB dynamic range, 0.2 % total harmonic distortion and 5 ms latency over the licence-free 2.4 GHz ISM band, with a range of up to 27.5 m (90 ft) in line of sight.

Transmitters + receivers 2 + 2
Digital audio 24‑bit / 48 kHz
Operating range (line of sight) 27.5 m
Latency 5 ms

Key features

  • Two U3 sets: 2 transmitters and 2 receivers
  • Stereo wireless from the mixer's left and right outputs to two powered speakers
  • Dual and multiple mono: one transmitter can feed two or more receivers
  • Two dynamic microphones into a mixer or other XLR-input device
  • 24-bit / 48 kHz audio, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 110 dB dynamic range
  • 2.4 GHz ISM worldwide open band, 6 switchable channels
  • Mic and Line modes on the transmitters (0 dB / -10 dB)
  • Internal rechargeable batteries: up to 5 hours
  • XLR female to XLR male adapter included for mixers with outputs close together

Stereo PA and DJ systems

Connect transmitter 1 to the left main XLR output of the mixer and receiver 1 to the XLR input of the left powered speaker, then transmitter 2 to the right main output and receiver 2 to the right speaker. Each set is switched on and set to its own channel; the second set must use a different channel than the first.

Dual and multiple mono

A small mono system with one loudspeaker needs only one U3 set. For dual mono, connect one transmitter to the mixer's output and U3 receivers to the XLR inputs of two powered speakers, and set all three units to the same channel: both speakers get the same mono signal. One U3 transmitter can transmit to more than two receivers, so the same signal can go to three or more powered cabinets or monitors, with one U3 receiver per cabinet.

Extend and adapt

If the XLR outputs of the mixer are very close together, the included XLR adapter moves one transmitter out of the way of the transmitter plugged into the next channel. An XLR cable of any length (not included) does the same, and XVIVE notes that a cable extension can also resolve wireless interference when many wireless units are close to each other.

Transmitters, receivers and batteries

Each U3 transmitter has an XLR (female) input with a grounding spring and Mic Lock, a MIC / LINE input switch (0 dB / -10 dB), power and channel switches, channel and power LEDs, mute and a USB charging port. Each U3 receiver has an XLR (male) output, power and channel switches, channel, RF and power LEDs and a 5 V USB charging port. Both units have internal rechargeable lithium-ion batteries for up to 5 hours; each pair charges together from its dual-USB cable in 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

In the box

  • 2 x U3 transmitter
  • 2 x U3 receiver
  • 2 x USB cable (dual-USB charging cable for each pair)
  • 1 x XLR female to XLR male adapter
  • 2 x bag (carry pouch for each pair)
  • Manual

FAQs

Can the XVIVE U3D send one signal to more than two speakers?

Yes. One U3 transmitter can transmit to more than two receivers on the same channel, so a multiple mono setup only needs one U3 receiver for each powered speaker or monitor.

Can the U3D be used with microphones?

Yes. XVIVE states that the U3D can be used with two dynamic microphones, connected to a mixer or other XLR-input audio device.

What is the XLR adapter for?

It moves one transmitter away from the next one when the XLR outputs of the mixer are very close together, so two transmitters can be plugged in side by side.

Where can I buy the XVIVE U3D Dual Wireless System for Audio in India?
