Product overview
The ART ISO-8U is a compact pedalboard power supply with eight isolated DC outputs and a 10 W USB port.
Six outputs provide 100 mA, two provide 250 mA, and all have two selectable modes. Output 1 can deliver a fixed 9 V or a variable output down to 4 V, for the "low battery" effect that can change the response of analogue pedals. The other outputs switch between 9 V and 12 V for pedals that accept a higher voltage for increased headroom. It comes with a variety of cables, including a battery clip, a reverse polarity cable and a Y cable for connecting two outputs to a pedal that requires 18 V or 24 V. The metal enclosure has recessed sides to protect controls and connections, and cable tie cut-outs for neat and secure wiring, so the ISO-8U delivers clean, noise-free power for the stompboxes on a board.
| DC outputs (6 x 100 mA, 2 x 250 mA) | 8 isolated |
| Switchable per output | 9 V / 12 V |
| Variable output 1 for sag | 4 to 9 V |
| Charging port | 10 W USB |
Key features
- 8 isolated DC outputs: 6 x 100 mA, 2 x 250 mA
- 10 W USB port for high power charging
- Output 1: fixed 9 V or variable 4 V to 9 V
- All other outputs switchable between 9 V and 12 V
- Each output individually current limited and short-circuit protected, with a status LED
- 12 cables including battery clip, polarity reversal and Y adaptor
- Metal chassis with recessed sides and tie wrap slots
- Universal power supply: 85 to 240 V AC, 50 / 60 Hz
Outputs and status lights
Outputs 1 to 6 deliver up to 100 mA and outputs 7 and 8 up to 250 mA, all on 2.1 mm x 5.1 mm barrel connections with a negative tip. Every output has a status LED that stays lit as long as there are no electrical faults with the cabling or the pedal being powered. On a fault (short, current protection or temperature overload) the LED dims or turns off and the voltage at that output diminishes; removing and reconnecting the cable resets the output.
Voltage selection and sag
DIP switches on the side panel set each output: switch 1 selects 4-9 V (sag) or a fixed 9 V for output 1, and switches 2 to 8 select 9 V or 12 V. With switch 1 at 4-9 V, the Voltage Adjust control on the front varies output 1 to simulate worn batteries. Two outputs combined through the supplied Y cable reach 18 V or 24 V for pedals that need it.
USB charging
A USB type A jack provides high power charging up to 10 W. The charging port stays active as long as the unit is powered by its external supply.
Cables and mounting
Twelve cables are supplied: six 24 inch straight and two 24 inch right angle 5.1 mm barrel cables, a battery clip cable for pedals without a power jack, a polarity reversal cable for pedals with a positive centre pin, a Y cable and a 3.5 mm to 5.1 mm barrel cable. The ISO-8U can be mounted on a pedal board with hook-and-loop fastener, and slots along the bottom edge take cable ties to route the power cables.

ART ISO-8U: frequently asked questions
How much current does each output provide?
Outputs 1 to 6 provide up to 100 mA and outputs 7 and 8 up to 250 mA. ART notes that the unit is not meant to run all outputs at their maximum current draw at once.
Can it power 18 V or 24 V pedals?
Yes. The supplied Y cable combines two outputs to reach 18 V or 24 V.
What polarity are the outputs?
Negative centre pin (negative tip). The supplied polarity reversal cable serves pedals with a positive centre pin.
What mains voltage does it accept?
The universal power supply takes 85 to 240 V AC, 50 / 60 Hz (30 W); the DC input of the ISO-8U is 12 V, 2.5 A.
Where can I buy the ART ISO-8U in India?
The ART ISO-8U is available from Shivansh Electronics, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, with delivery across India.
Workflow 1: Powering a mixed pedalboard
Guitarists and bassists with several pedals on one board.
Connections
| Connect | To |
|---|---|
| ISO‑8U outputs 1 to 8 | Pedal DC inputs (supplied 5.1 mm cables) |
| Universal power supply | ISO‑8U 12 V power input |
Setup
- Check each pedal's DC power, polarity and current draw.
- Set the DIP switch of each output to 9 V or 12 V before connecting the cable.
- Use outputs 7 and 8 (250 mA) for pedals that need more current; use the polarity reversal cable for positive centre pin pedals.
Tip: A status LED that dims or goes out marks a fault on that output; reconnect the cable to reset it.
Workflow 2: Sag voltage for an analogue fuzz
Players who want the "low battery" response from an analogue pedal.
Connections
| Connect | To |
|---|---|
| ISO‑8U output 1 | Fuzz pedal DC input |
Setup
- Set DIP switch 1 to 4-9 V.
- Turn the Voltage Adjust control on the front between 4 V and 9 V to taste.
Tip: Setting switch 1 back to 9 V disengages the sag feature.
