The FONESTAR LIGNUM-12SUB is a passive high-power 12 inch subwoofer, 400 W RMS (1,600 W peak) at 8 Ω, designed to reinforce low frequencies in professional sound installations, in a birch plywood bass reflex enclosure with polyurea coating.

Its transducer has a pressed paper fibre cone, a ferrite magnet and a 65 mm copper wire voice coil. With 94 dB sensitivity and a maximum SPL of 120 dB continuous and 126 dB peak, it gives considerable volume with lower energy consumption, good headroom to handle signal peaks without distortion and low total harmonic distortion for remarkable fidelity. The bass reflex design optimises low-frequency performance.

Acoustics

Design and durability

The LIGNUM-12SUB shares the soft-edged cubic design, black finish and materials of the LIGNUM range: high-strength birch plywood with heavy-duty polyurea protection and a powder-coated perforated steel grille with acoustic foam. It operates from -20 °C to +60 °C.

Connections and mounting

Input and output each offer a 2-pin safety Euroblock and a 4-pole speaker connector (1+, 1-, 2+, 2-). Five M8 points serve for flying, wall mounting and safety anchoring, four M6 holes accept a VESA 100 x 100 mount, and the 35 mm hole on top takes a pole for a satellite speaker.
