Product overview
The FONESTAR MPX-450D is the network audio expansion module for the FONESTAR MPX-4088 audio matrix: 8 x 8 digital audio input/output channels on 2 RJ-45 ports, primary and secondary.
The MPX-4088 is a highly versatile audio matrix for installations of any size, with DSP signal processing and integrated solutions to common problems such as feedback. The MPX-450D installs in its rear expansion slot and gives redundant transfer of digital audio between MPX-4088 matrices, so they can share channels and work as one system in shopping centres, hotels, conference rooms and stadiums.

Key features
- Network audio expansion module for the MPX-4088 audio matrix
- 8 x 8 digital audio input/output channels
- 2 RJ-45 ports: primary and secondary for redundancy
- Connections via RJ-45, Cat 5e cable
- Shares channels among matrices
- Installs in the expansion slot on the rear of the MPX-4088
Redundant by design
The PRIMARY port connects the matrix to the network; the SECONDARY port is the redundant connection that takes over when the network on the PRIMARY port fails. ACT/LINK and 1G lights show the state of each port.
Grow from one matrix to many
With MPX-450D modules installed, more than one MPX-4088 can be used, expanding inputs and outputs. FONESTAR systems go from 12 zones with one matrix up to 192 zones with 16 matrices.
Quick installation
Switch the matrix off, remove the screws and the protective cover of the expansion slot, insert the module and secure it with the screws. The network is then configured with the protocol's configuration software, and routing is set in the FONESTAR PC software.
