Product overview
The NEUMANN KH 810 II AES67 is a reference-quality, DSP-controlled studio subwoofer for medium-sized rooms, with a long-throw 10" driver, a 7.1.4 / 0.1 bass manager and redundant AES67 audio-over-IP connectivity: bass extension down to 16 Hz with Neumann precision and a hub that feeds up to 11 studio monitors from the network.
The KH 810 II AES67 is the perfect complement to mid-sized Neumann studio monitors such as the KH 150 and KH 310. A novel ELFF™ (Extremely Linear Force Factor) driver design and intelligent protection limiters keep distortion exceptionally low even at maximum SPL. Combined with analog Neumann studio monitors such as the KH 310 or KH 420, it offers sufficient DSP power to align an entire stereo, surround or immersive system up to 7.1.4 via MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment (sold separately), optimising both frequency response and phase. In surround and immersive systems, analog and DSP-equipped Neumann speakers can be combined and room-aligned using MA 1 with Multichannel Extension (sold separately).
| Lower limit, free field (±6 dB) | 16 Hz |
| Max. SPL in the corner (3 % THD, 1 m) | 115 dB |
| Woofer amplifier output power | 180 W |
| AES67 network audio input | 12 ch. |

Next generation subwoofer
The KH 810 II AES67 improves on its predecessor in acoustic performance and adds new features. The in-house modelled long-throw driver damps break-up modes for low distortion at high levels, the extremely linear force factor keeps harmonic distortion low even at high excursions, and air noise and rocking modes are reduced. Soft clip, peak, thermo and excursion limiters protect the system and allow the maximum performance to be extracted.
Precision in every detail
As subwoofers are typically placed on the floor, robust grilles protect the driver from accidental damage. The ultra-stiff wooden cabinet with its tough painted finish and built-in rubber feet has excellent self-damping and no internal standing wave resonances, and its highly efficient front-ported bass reflex system is tuned for the tightest bass with inaudible port noise.
7.1.4 bass management
The main channels 1-3 and 5-12 are high-pass filtered (>80 Hz, 24 dB/octave) and passed to the outputs that feed the loudspeakers, while their bass component (<80 Hz, 24 dB/octave) is summed and played back by the subwoofer. The LFE signal on channel 4 is added unfiltered. This lets the main loudspeakers play louder and with lower distortion.
AES67 network and connectivity
Two RJ45 network ports offer redundant AES67 connectivity, fully compliant with broadcast standards such as ST 2110, ST 2022-7 redundancy and RAVENNA, with up to 12 input channels; a network connection is also used for control via MA 1. Two electronically balanced XLR inputs and outputs serve stereo operation, two Sub-D 25 connectors feed up to 11 analog output channels and seven AES3 outputs (BNC) connect up to 11 monitors digitally; the AES3 outputs also feed the S/P-DIF inputs of Neumann monitors via a BNC to RCA cable.
Applications
The KH 810 II AES67 excels in music, film scoring, broadcast and post-production studios for tracking, mixing and mastering: bass extension, a higher maximum SPL and lower distortion for the whole system, LFE playback, Plane Wave Bass Array™ set-ups and the upgrade of existing systems or their extension for immersive audio, as the interface between an audio-over-IP infrastructure and analog or digital KH line loudspeakers.

NEUMANN KH 810 II AES67: frequently asked questions
How many monitors can the KH 810 II AES67 manage?
Its bass manager handles systems up to 7.1.4: up to 11 main channels plus LFE, with analog and AES3 outputs for up to 11 studio monitors.
Which AES67 formats does it accept?
Up to 12 input channels at 24 bits and 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96 kHz, packet times of 125 µs or 1 ms, multicast or unicast, with RAVENNA and NMOS IS-04 / IS-05 connection management and ST 2022-7 redundancy.
Does it need the MA 1 software?
No. It can be operated from the backplate in local mode. MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment (sold separately) adds room alignment of the subwoofer and the connected monitors, system-wide control and firmware updates; the Multichannel Extension is needed for multichannel systems.
