Product overview
The SONODYNE IS4250P is a 4 x 250 W Class D power amplifier with full DSP, Ethernet control and Dante support through an expansion card, from the ISP Series of AUSTRALIAN MONITOR multichannel power amplifiers.
The ISP Series is AUSTRALIAN MONITOR's premium offering of multichannel Class D power amplifiers for high quality audio reinforcement, built in dual channel 120 W or 250 W and quad channel 120 W or 250 W versions. The IS4250P delivers 4 x 250 W into 4 Ω, 70 V or 100 V loudspeaker lines from a 2RU chassis. It features Ethernet control, a full featured DSP, ErP low power standby and efficient Class D amplifiers, and the embedded ALMA Control Software connects, configures and controls the amplifier from any device with an HTML5 compliant web browser.

Full DSP
The DSP covers input matrix, filters, parametric EQ, compressor / limiter, delay, mute and inversion. On the Audio Setup page of the user interface every amplifier output runs Mix, Crossover & EQ, Speaker EQ, Compressor / Limiter and Delay blocks with its 70 V / 100 V mode; with the Dante card the Dante inputs and outputs appear in the same view, and a pink noise source is available for testing.
Ethernet control in a web browser
The amplifier is controlled over Ethernet with the embedded ALMA Control Software, accessed via a web browser. The user interface covers audio set-up, device control, network settings (IP address obtained automatically by default, or set by hand, plus a user-friendly domain name), user accounts with admin rights, saving and loading amplifier configurations, factory reset and software updates.
GPIO and low power standby
Four general purpose inputs / outputs at the rear are configured in software, each with a feature, a mode and a selection (for example VCA, mute output, recall preset or heartbeat). A dedicated standby contact closure input and an auto standby setting, with time and wake-up sensitivity, place the amplifier in ErP low power standby, below 2 W.
Front and rear panel
The front carries DSP and IP indicators, protect, clip and signal indicators for each channel, a status indicator and the mains switch. At the rear are the mains inlet, the CH1 to CH4 OUTPUT screw terminals (marked C, 4Ω, OT-IN, C, 70V and 100V), the GPIO 1-4 / STANDBY / GND terminal, the Ethernet port, a reset button, the expansion board slot and the audio inputs INPUT1 to INPUT4.

SONODYNE IS4250P: frequently asked questions
Which loudspeakers can the IS4250P drive?
Each of its four channels drives 4 Ω loudspeakers or 70 V and 100 V distributed loudspeaker lines, 250 W per channel.
How is the IS4250P controlled?
Over Ethernet with the embedded ALMA Control Software, opened in any HTML5 compliant web browser. Four software configurable GPIO and a standby contact closure input are also provided.
Does the IS4250P support Dante?
Yes, with the DM4x4 expansion card: a 4 input, 4 output Dante transceiver card that fits the expansion board slot. The ANALOGUE4 card adds 4 analogue line inputs instead.
How much power does it draw in standby?
Below 2 W: the ISP Series meets the ErP (1275/2008/EC) low power standby requirement.
Where can I buy the SONODYNE IS4250P in India?
The SONODYNE IS4250P is available from Shivansh Electronics, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, with delivery across India.
Workflow 1: 100 V distributed loudspeaker lines
Installers driving 100 V loudspeaker lines in several zones.
Connections
| Connect | To |
|---|---|
| Mixer or source output | Audio input (INPUT1 to INPUT4) |
| Each CH OUTPUT 100V terminal | 100 V loudspeaker line |
Setup
- Rack the IS4250P (2RU).
- Wire the sources to the audio inputs.
- Wire each loudspeaker line to the 100V connection of its channel terminal.
- Route inputs to outputs and set levels on the Audio Setup page.
Tip: The input matrix lets any input feed any output.
Workflow 2: 70 V or 4 Ω loudspeakers
Systems with 70 V lines or low impedance loudspeakers.
Connections
| Connect | To |
|---|---|
| Source output | Audio input |
| CH OUTPUT 70V or 4Ω terminal | 70 V line or 4 Ω loudspeaker |
Setup
- Connect the loudspeakers to the 70V or 4Ω connection of each channel.
- Use crossover, EQ and the compressor / limiter in the DSP to tune and protect them.
Tip: 4 Ω, 70 V and 100 V outputs are all available on every channel.
Workflow 3: Set-up from a web browser
Contractors commissioning the amplifier on site.
Connections
| Connect | To |
|---|---|
