Product overview

The SONODYNE SDV 2010 is a 2 x 100 W Class D stereo integrated amplifier for fixed install applications, with mic, line, Bluetooth, USB and SD card inputs, mic priority and auto standby.

The SDV 2010 has multiple inputs (mic, line, Bluetooth and USB) and both speaker and line level outputs, for high quality stereo sound in fixed installations. A built-in MP3 player with display plays from USB flash drives and SD cards, the balanced mic input has priority over the line inputs, and a power saving standby mode switches the amplifier on automatically when a signal arrives. The Class D design with switch mode power supply keeps power consumption low and operation cool, while a built-in limiter on each channel and extensive protection look after the amplifier and the loudspeakers.

Key features

  • Class D stereo integrated amplifier, 2 x 100 W at 4 Ω (2 x 50 W at 8 Ω)
  • Line, mic, Bluetooth, USB and SD card inputs
  • Priority mic input: a connected microphone mutes the other inputs
  • Power saving standby with auto power-on when a signal is detected
  • Built-in MP3 player with display for USB flash drives and SD cards (MP3 and WAV)
  • 2-way tone control (bass and treble)
  • Balanced line inputs with link for daisy chaining a second amplifier
  • Built-in limiter on each channel and extensive protection

Inputs, outputs and controls

Line sources connect to a pair of stereo RCA sockets or to balanced euroblock inputs, each with a link (loop-through) to a second amplifier. The balanced euroblock mic input takes a dynamic microphone or a condenser microphone with its own power source. The 4-pole barrier strip speaker output drives 4 Ω or 8 Ω left and right loudspeakers. On the front, MASTER and MIC level controls run from fully muted to + 6 dB, and BASS and TREBLE give ± 6 dB.

Media player and Bluetooth

The USB / SD card player plays MP3 and WAV tracks; inserting a USB flash drive or SD card switches to it automatically. Its buttons cover mode, play / pause, stop, select (in order or random) and skip. Press MODE to select Bluetooth: the amplifier appears as BLUETOOTH on a phone for pairing, and the volume can also be controlled from the phone.

Standby, protection and cooling

The amplifier stays in a very low power standby (red LED) until it detects a signal on any input, then switches on (green LED) and returns to standby about 5 minutes after the signal is removed. Protection covers DC, internal faults, input overload, RF interference, output short circuit, overheating and mains overvoltage above 265 V AC (the protect LED glows). A variable speed rear-mounted fan draws cool air from a dust-covered front opening and pushes warm air out of the rear; the front dust filter is easy to remove for periodic cleaning. It can stand on 4 rubber legs or be rack mounted with the optional rack ears.

In the box

  • 1 x SDV 2010 amplifier
  • 1 x mains cable
  • 1 x instruction manual

SONODYNE SDV 2010: frequently asked questions

Which loudspeakers can it drive?

Left and right loudspeakers of 4 Ω or 8 Ω on the barrier strip: 2 x 100 W at 4 Ω, 2 x 50 W at 8 Ω.

What happens when someone speaks into the microphone?

The mic input is a priority input: a connected microphone overrides the other inputs by muting them.

Can it play music without an external player?

Yes. The built-in player plays MP3 and WAV files from USB flash drives and SD cards, and Bluetooth streams from a phone.

Can it be rack mounted?

Yes, in a standard rack with the optional rack ears; otherwise it stands on its 4 rubber legs on any flat surface.

Where can I buy the SONODYNE SDV 2010 in India?
