Product overview
The SONODYNE SJX 1210 is a two way compact line array loudspeaker with dual 10 inch woofers, rated 800 W (AES), for high performance applications indoors and outdoors.
It has a clear, detailed response and can be flown, or ground stacked, for both installation and touring applications. The SJX Series is SONODYNE's range of passive line arrays with dual 8, 10 and 12 inch LF drivers: high power transducers chosen for a balanced tonality and exceptional dynamics, and a custom waveguide that gives wide horizontal dispersion while allowing large vertical coverage when several elements are aligned.
| Max SPL continuous (136 dB peak) | 130 dB |
| Continuous power (1600 W program) | 800 W |
| HF directivity (H x V) | 100° x 15° |
| Sensitivity (1 W, 1 m) | 99 dB |

- Efficient crossover network for a linear response at high output levels
- Flying and mounting solutions
Trapezoidal plywood enclosure
The trapezoidal enclosure is 18 mm plywood finished in durable black paint, with a powder coated 18 gauge perforated steel grille. All SJX models are built this way to be roadworthy. The SJX 1210 measures 800 x 315 x 370 mm (W x H x D) and weighs 27 kg.
Transducers and waveguide
The LF section is 2 x 10 inch with 3 inch VC; the HF section is 2 x 1 inch with 1.33 inch VC, on a computer designed waveguide that equalises the path length of the high frequencies. The SJX literature rates the drivers at LF 2 x 400 W AES; HF 2 x 35 W AES. The crossover point is 1.5 kHz and the efficient crossover network keeps the response linear at high output levels.
Performance
Frequency range is 55 Hz - 20 kHz (-10 dB), sensitivity 99 dB (1 W, 1 m) and maximum SPL 130 dB continuous and 136 dB peak. Power handling is 800 W continuous, 1600 W program and 3200 W peak at 8 Ω nominal impedance. HF directivity is 100° x 15°, and the 100° horizontal coverage is maintained under all system configurations.
Flying and connections
Each cabinet has a standard bracket for flying with a vertical tilting arrangement; the side plates are marked 0° to 10° in 2° steps. Up to 8 cabinets can be flown using the truss head (SJX TH10, sold separately). The rear plate carries a twist-lock input and a twist-lock link.
