Product overview

The SONODYNE SSW 1030 is a high power on wall / on floor subwoofer with a 10 inch dual voice coil driver, stereo and mono modes and an inbuilt high pass filter for the satellite speakers.

In an MDF enclosure the 10 inch dual voice-coil subwoofer covers 40 Hz to 180 Hz (response 45 Hz to 180 Hz), with 95 dB sensitivity (1 W, 1 m, half space) and 119 dB SPL at 300 W. It runs in direct mode at 4 Ω + 4 Ω in stereo or 8 Ω in mono, takes 300 W + 300 W amplifier power at its direct input, and passes a high passed signal on to the satellites. Wall-mounting brackets are included.

MDF enclosure for wall or floor

The wide, low MDF cabinet measures 580 x 325 x 335 mm (W x H x D) and weighs 16.5 kg. A full perforated grille covers the front. It hangs on the included wall-mounting brackets or stands on the floor.

Stereo and mono modes

The rear plate carries INPUT terminals (LEFT and RIGHT), a MODE switch (MONO or STEREO) and SATELLITE OUTPUT terminals (LEFT and RIGHT). In stereo mode the direct mode impedance is 4 Ω + 4 Ω, in mono mode 8 Ω; amplifier power at the direct input is 300 W + 300 W.

Inbuilt high pass filter

The in-built crossover sends a high passed signal to the satellite speakers through the SATELLITE OUTPUT terminals, so the SSW 1030 carries the low end of the system.

The SSW Series has four subwoofers for wall, floor and ceiling: SSW 1030, SSW 2010, SSW 2020 and SSW 3010. The SSW 1030 is the 10 inch, 300 W + 300 W model and the one model of the series that is used in direct mode only (no LMT mode).
