Product overview

The TASCAM CD-200SB is a professional 2U rack-mount CD player with SD/SDHC card and USB flash drive playback, direct access to ten user-defined folders and built-in dubbing from CD to SD or USB.

Joining the CD-200 series installed in countless facilities, the CD-200SB adds a solid-state player that works like a traditional CD changer: the ten number keys on the front panel call up ten folders on an SD card or USB drive, each like an album. With no rotating parts, solid-state media is durable and maintenance-free, ideal for background music that runs for hours every day. The CD-5020A audio CD drive with shockproof memory, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs, coaxial and optical S/PDIF and a wireless remote complete it.

Key features

  • SD/SDHC card and USB flash drive playback in addition to CD
  • Direct access to 10 user-defined folders with the front-panel number keys or the remote
  • Dubbing from CD to SD or USB as WAV or MP3, completed as the disc plays
  • CD: CD-DA, WAV, MP3, MP2; SD/SDHC and USB: WAV, MP3, MP2, WMA, AAC
  • CD text and ID3/WMA/AAC tag display
  • Four playback modes (continuous, single, random, program), repeat and folder repeat
  • ±14% pitch control for CD, Intro Check and 10-second shockproof memory
  • Browse and folder erase functions for SD and USB media
  • XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced outputs; coaxial and optical digital outputs
  • 1/4-inch headphone output; RC-CD200SB wireless remote included
  • EIA 2U rack-mount size; RoHS certified

Ten direct folders, like a CD changer

Organise music in folders on an SD card or USB drive and assign them to the FOLDER/TRACK SELECT 1-10/0 keys, one at a time with SET or all at once with AUTO SET. A lit key starts its folder with one press. The assignments are saved on the card or drive itself, so they are ready again when the media is loaded, even in another CD-200SB.

Convert CDs to files without a computer

Load a CD and an SD card or USB drive, press DUBBING and pick a number key for the destination folder. The CD plays while it is converted, so dubbing is finished when playback ends, and the new album is assigned to that key. Choose 44.1 kHz/16-bit WAV, or MP3 at 256, 128 or 64 kbps.

Solid-state reliability for installed sound

Without a rotating mechanism, SD and USB playback is durable and maintenance-free, so the CD-200SB can play background music for hours every day. Wide file support (WAV, MP3, MP2, WMA, AAC) gives peace of mind where you never know what files will be brought in.

Balanced, unbalanced and digital outputs

XLR outputs at +4 dBu (+20 dBu maximum) feed professional mixers and amplifiers, RCA outputs at -10 dBV serve other equipment, and coaxial and optical S/PDIF outputs carry CD, SD and USB playback digitally.

In the box

  • TASCAM CD-200SB CD / solid-state player
  • Wireless remote control unit (RC-CD200SB)
  • AAA batteries (x 2)
  • Rack-mounting screw kit
  • TASCAM ID registration guide
  • Warranty card
  • Owner's Manual

SD/SDHC cards and USB flash drives are sold separately; TASCAM publishes lists of confirmed media.

TASCAM CD-200SB: frequently asked questions
