The TASCAM MP-800U is a compact, full-featured 1U SD / USB media player with a built-in FM tuner, a USB DAC and optional Bluetooth streaming, with balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs for restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues and every professional audio setup.
It plays WAV, MP3 and AAC files from the front-panel SD card slot and USB flash drive port, outputs computer audio through its USB Type-C port, and receives FM radio with 20 presets on a dedicated tuner output. Professional playback functions such as auto cue, auto ready, incremental play, fade in / out, pitch control with key original and power-on play keep playlists ready, while ten number keys, the included remote, CONTROL IN/OUT jacks, the optional TASCAM RC-20 and the optional TASCAM IF-E100 Ethernet card cover every kind of control. Play WAV (up to 24-bit / 48 kHz), MP3 and AAC files from SD, SDHC and SDXC cards up to 512 GB or USB flash drives. Set the playback area to the whole medium or a single folder, browse folders with the MULTI JOG dial, or type a track number directly with the number keys. Continuous, single and random modes, repeat and A-B repeat suit background music and cue-based playback alike.
Bluetooth and USB DAC made easy
With the optional AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter installed in the front ADAPTER PORT, the MP-800U streams audio from smartphones, tablets and computers into any installation. Its USB DAC lets you connect a computer to the front USB-C port and play music libraries straight through the unit's outputs.
FM tuner and flexible outputs
The built-in FM tuner has its own RCA tuner output and up to 20 user presets that can be recalled from the front panel or the remote. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs integrate with any system; one level control covers the XLR, RCA and headphone outputs together, and a second sets the tuner output independently.
Professional playback and control
Power-on play starts playback when the unit is switched on, fades smooth the starts and stops, and auto cue, auto ready and incremental play keep each item primed. The optional RC-20 starts up to 20 tracks directly, the CONTROL IN/OUT jacks provide fader start and play, pause and stop tallies, and the IF-E100 card adds Ethernet control via Telnet, including integration with network AV control systems through TASCAM's verified plugin.
