Product overview
The XVIVE U4T9 Complete System + T9 In-Ears is a complete IEM system for live performance and in-studio monitoring: the U4 In-Ear Monitor Wireless System plus XVIVE T9 In-Ear Monitors, with a CU4 carry case.
The U4 transmitter connects to the mixer or sound interface and sends 24-bit / 48 kHz audio, with less than 5 ms of latency and a 107 dB signal-to-noise ratio, over 2.4 GHz to the belt-pack receiver up to 27.5 m (90 ft) away. The T9 in-ears plug straight into the receiver, and the CU4 hard case carries the whole set.
| Digital audio | 24‑bit / 48 kHz |

| Operating range (line of sight) | 27.5 m |
| System and in‑ear monitors | U4 + T9 |
Key features
- Ultra-compact wireless system for in-ear monitors, earbuds and headphones
- Audiophile 24-bit / 48 kHz sound with less than 5 ms of latency
- Industry standard 2.4 GHz wireless, licence-free ISM band
- Solid RF connection over 27.5 m (90 ft) in line of sight
- 107 dB signal-to-noise ratio, 20 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response
- 6 switchable channels, up to 6 systems at the same time
- Line and Aux input modes (+4 dBu / -10 dBV) on the transmitter
- Internal rechargeable batteries in both units: up to 5 hours, 5 V USB charging
The transmitter
The transmitter connects to the audio source, typically a mixer or sound interface. It has a balanced XLR input with a circumferential ground spring and a lock, and takes 1/4 inch TS sources (for example a mixer's Aux send) through the supplied adapter. An Aux / Line switch sets the input mode (Line +4 dBu for mixers and professional gear, Aux -10 dBV for consumer devices such as portable players or computers); there are a power switch, a channel switch for channels 1-6 with a channel LED, a power status LED and a USB charging port. It measures 100 x 30 x 28 mm and weighs 90 g.
The receiver
The belt-pack receiver takes earphones, headphones or in-ear monitors on its 3.5 mm output (6 - 600 Ω) and has a volume control, a channel switch for channels 1-6 with a channel LED, an RF status LED (on = linked, flashing = signal interference, off = transmitter off or unlinked), a power status LED, a USB charging port and a belt clip. It measures 60 x 47 x 41 mm and weighs 118 g.
Batteries and charging
The internal battery in both units lasts for 5 hours. It charges with the included USB cable and any standard 5 V USB charger in 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the charger; a 15 minute charge gives about 30 minutes of use. The manual asks to switch the units off while charging.
T9 In-Ear Monitors
The T9 in-ears are hand-assembled, sound-isolating earphones with dual balanced-armature drivers, a 3.5 mm earphone jack and durable, replaceable cables, for live musicians as well as studio tracking and mixing. Frequency response is 20 Hz - 16.5 kHz (±3 dB), impedance 59 Ω and sensitivity 120 dB at 1 kHz; a carrying case and cleaning tool are included with the T9.
CU4 carry case
A three-layer EVA hardshell case with a high-density oxford cloth exterior: scratch-resistant, tear-resistant and waterproof, with a custom foam insert for the U4 system and an interior pouch for the USB charging cable.
Applications
Run a monitor mix from a soundboard, wirelessly, to one set of headphones or in-ear monitors, live, at home or in the studio. With more than one receiver one person can broadcast to a whole group (demos, presentations, tours); recording musicians can play or sing and engineer at the same time; guitarists and bassists can practise privately late at night through a multi-effect unit or modelling amplifier; and a whole band of up to six musicians can monitor together, with one monitor mix per transmitter and no PA speakers needed in rehearsal.
In the box
- U4 In-Ear Monitor Wireless System (U4 transmitter, U4 receiver, USB cable, XLR male to 1/4 inch TS male adapter, manual, bag)
- T9 In-Ear Monitors
- CU4 carry case
