Product overview
The CHANDLER LIMITED Little Devil Colored Boost is a class A guitar boost pedal that is not a clean boost and not a fuzz: six Feedback & Bias presets, from slightly fuzzy to in-your-face, three boost ranges, a three-way Highs switch and true bypass.
The soul of the Colored Boost is its class A amplifier design and the selectable Feedback & Bias control. Each of the six presets has its own style of harmonic distortion and clipping: soft clipping, hard clipping, clipping on the top, bottom or both sides of a sine wave, and significant changes in frequency happen with each click of the switch. The Colored Boost can range from gentle sustain to screaming vintage, and from slight fuzz to tight and in your face, for guitar, bass or keyboard.

| Maximum gain (preset 2) | Up to 41 dB |

Six Feedback & Bias presets
The Feedback & Bias switch selects both the negative feedback and the bias of the circuit. Feedback changes the gain, frequency response, clipping and harmonic distortion; bias changes the operation of the gain transistor, especially the clipping and distortion. In the Full range: preset 1 is boost with a bit of fuzz (about 40 dB, distortion about 31 %); 2 the same without the fuzz (41 dB, 17 %); 3 more harmonic distortion (39 dB, 6 %); 4 entirely harmonic without clipping (36 dB, about 2 %); 5 the mildest boost with colour (23 dB, 0.25 % THD); 6 crunchy, chunky and in your face at lower gain (31 dB, 0.77 % THD). Distortion and clipping are less pronounced in the High and Mid ranges.
Color Boost
The Color Boost control sets the amount of gain. It is not linear in its sound: the pedal gets brighter as you boost more, so use the Boost Range together with the boost to tailor the sound.
Boost Range
Selects the frequency response at the beginning of the circuit, to keep the sound focused. Highs is similar to old-school treble boosters, with just the high frequencies boosted; Mids is a broader treble boost adding high mids and a touch of low mids; Full is the widest range, covering the low mids and into the lows, with just enough of the lows left out to keep the sound tight. Full is also a great setting for bass and keyboards.
Highs and bypass
The Highs toggle (Smooth, Bright, Very Bright) sets the overall brightness of the pedal: useful with amplifiers of different sizes, to fine-tune a small bright combo or brighten a muddy stack. The footswitch is a true, full or hardwire bypass, whichever term you like.
