Product overview

The ECLER VEO-SPH44 is a professional 1x4 HDMI distribution amplifier / splitter for high dynamic range (HDR) formats: it shows one Ultra High Definition source on up to four Ultra HD displays at the same time.

It supports an HDMI data rate of up to 18 Gbps with 4K/UHD video at 60 Hz and 4:4:4 chroma sampling, includes EDID management in three modes selected with a front panel switch, and is HDCP 2.2 compliant. Front panel LEDs show power and link status, and the compact metal unit runs from the included 5 V DC international power supply (2 W maximum).

Key features

  • Simultaneously displays an Ultra HD source on up to four Ultra HD displays
  • Resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, YUV 4:4:4
  • Three EDID setting modes: Copy, Auto and Mixed
  • HDCP 2.2 / 1.4 compliant; 36-bit deep colour
  • HDR10 and 3D content; up to 18 Gbps video data rate
  • Multichannel audio passed through: PCM 2 ch, LPCM 5.1 and 7.1, and compressed and lossless high-definition surround formats
  • Front panel LED indicators for power and signal status
  • Firmware upgrade port on the front panel

EDID management in three modes

A three-position switch sets how the splitter handles EDID. Copy: the displays on Out1-3 receive a copy of the EDID negotiated by Out4. Auto: EDID is managed by the VEO-SPH44 itself, following the table in the user manual. Mixed: EDID follows the highest common resolution supported by the display on Out4, to keep all displays compatible. HDR formats are not supported in Auto mode.

HDCP and resolution handling

HDCP version takes priority over EDID: when the source is HDCP 2.2 compliant, 4K at 60 Hz EDID settings are accepted only if the displays are HDCP 2.2 compliant; otherwise the output is set automatically to 1080p at 60 Hz. An HDCP 1.4 4K at 24 Hz source passes at 4K 24 Hz to all displays.

Simple installation

Connect the HDMI source to the input, connect the 4 HDMI outputs to the displays, then power up the VEO-SPH44, the displays and the sources. HDMI cable runs of up to 10 m are supported with ECLER VEO cables.

In the box

  • 1 x VEO-SPH44 HDMI distribution amplifier / splitter
  • 1 x 5 V DC 1 A international power supply
