Product overview

The ECLER VEO-SPS42 is an 18 Gbps HDMI 1x2 splitter with Cat extension: it distributes one HDMI source and extends it to two remote displays, with video up to 4K at 60 Hz 4:4:4.

Each of its two Cat outputs feeds an included VEO-SPS4 receiver over a single Cat 5e or higher cable: up to 35 m for 4K at 60 Hz, 50 m for 4K at 30 Hz or 70 m for Full HD, point to point with zero latency. An HDMI loop output serves a local display, stereo audio is extracted on a Euroblock connector, IR control passes one way, and EDID and RS-232 control make it a versatile solution for professional video distribution. The receivers can be powered over the cable (PoC) from the splitter.

Key features

  • Distribution and extension over a single Cat 5e or higher cable
  • HDMI 18 Gbps, 4K at 60 Hz 4:4:4 as specified in HDMI 2.0b
  • 4K at 60 Hz up to 35 m, 4K at 30 Hz up to 50 m, 1080p at 60 Hz up to 70 m
  • HDMI loop out and two RJ45 extension outputs
  • HLG, HDR10, HDR10+ and dynamic-metadata HDR video
  • LPCM up to 7.1 and high-definition surround audio formats
  • Stereo unbalanced audio extraction on a Euroblock connector
  • EDID management with a DIP switch; HDCP 2.2 compliant
  • One-way IR control extension; RS-232 (ASCII) control
  • PoC: the included receivers can be powered from the splitter

One cable to every display

Run one Cat 5e or higher cable from each RJ45 output of the VEO-SPS42 to the RJ45 input of a VEO-SPS4 receiver, and connect the receiver's HDMI output to the display. Use good quality cables: shielded cables and shielded connectors are mandatory for a good ground reference and to avoid electromagnetic interference. Each receiver is powered either by its own adapter or by PoC from the splitter.

Audio, IR and local monitoring

AUDIO OUT delivers the stereo audio of the source as an unbalanced signal on a 3-pin Euroblock for an amplifier or another audio device. The IR receiver at a display picks up the remote control and the IR blaster on the splitter repeats it to the source, which can stay in the rack. The HDMI loop out feeds a local display at the splitter.

EDID modes and RS-232 control

A five-way DIP switch selects one of the predefined EDID settings: 1080p, 1080i, 1080p 3D, 4K at 30 Hz and 4K at 60 Hz (4:2:0 or 4:4:4, with or without HDR), each with stereo, 5.1 or HD audio 7.1, plus copy from the loop out or from any Cat output and a PC control mode. Through the SERVICE micro USB port, ASCII commands at 115200 baud control power, outputs, HDCP, Cat cable distance mode (normal, 35 m, 70 m), audio mute and EDID, and the same port is used for firmware upgrades.

ECLER VEO-SPS42: frequently asked questions

How far can the displays be from the splitter?

Up to 35 m for 4K at 60 Hz, 50 m for 4K at 30 Hz and 70 m for 1080p at 60 Hz, over a single Cat 5e or higher cable per display.

Are the receivers included?

Yes. 2 VEO-SPS4 receivers come with the VEO-SPS42, together with IR cables, mounting ears, screws and the power supply.

Do the receivers need their own power supply?

No. Each receiver can be powered through PoC from the splitter, or by its own 12 V DC adapter; only one method is needed.

Can I control it from a computer?

Yes. ASCII commands are sent through the SERVICE micro USB port with a serial command tool (115200 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit).

Where can I buy the ECLER VEO-SPS42 in India?

The ECLER VEO-SPS42 is available from Shivansh Electronics, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, with delivery across India.
