Product overview

The ELECTRO-VOICE LRC 1100 is the 1 m passive column of the LRC Line Radiator Column series: twelve 2.5-inch active drivers and three passive radiators reach 65 Hz, a user-selectable 20° / 40° vertical pattern with 5° down-tilt covers 130° horizontally, a built-in transformer connects it to 70 V or 100 V lines, and it is EN 54-24 Type B certified and IP56c rated.

The LRC Series (Line Radiator Column) is a line of passive column loudspeakers engineered specifically for installation: simple, practical and easy to install, with a sleek, neutral industrial design. Purpose-built 2.5-inch drivers sit behind proprietary PaSS phase plugs that control vertical dispersion, so energy lands on listeners instead of exciting reflective floors, ceilings and walls. The paintable enclosure comes in RAL 9004 signal black or RAL 9003 signal white and mounts close to the wall on the included SwifTilt bracket. LRC columns work as main, support, foreground or background loudspeakers, indoors or outdoors.

Built for 70 V and 100 V lines

A pre-installed transformer connects the LRC 1100 to 70 V or 100 V lines, with taps of 120, 60, 30, 15 and 8 W at 70 V and 120, 60, 30 and 15 W at 100 V, or drives the column directly at 8 Ω. EV's patented Automatic Saturation Compensation (ASC) preserves low-frequency response and protects the system electronics from improper loads whenever the transformer is engaged, regardless of the number of speakers on the line. The tap is set on the underside with the Torx end of the supplied key.

Vertical pattern control

The LRC 1100 lets the installer select a narrow 20° or a wide 40° vertical pattern with the wide / narrow selector on the underside (Torx TR20). Acoustic down-tilt, unique to the LRC 1100, focuses energy towards the audience at 5° below horizontal when the column is installed fully vertical; horizontal coverage is 130°.

SwifTilt mounting

The three-piece SwifTilt bracket ships with every column. It installs the column as close to the wall as possible, tilts it down in steps of 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 15, 20 and 25°, inverts for up to 25° up-tilt, and pans up to 80° left or right at every down-tilt angle. The column can also be strapped to a pole or flown from its M8 suspension points with properly rated hardware.

Weatherised and EN 54-24 certified

The column is weatherised for full outdoor exposure (IP56c) and certified to EN 54-24 Type B for voice alarm systems. The low-profile Euroblock connector is recessed in the input cup with a removable plug that can be pre-wired, and a dual gland-nut weather cover seals the connection; the weather cover must be used in EN 54-24 compliant installations.

ELECTRO-VOICE LRC 1100: frequently asked questions

Can the LRC 1100 run on a 100 V line?

Yes. Its built-in transformer offers 120, 60, 30 and 15 W taps on 100 V lines and 120, 60, 30, 15 and 8 W taps on 70 V lines; it can also be driven directly at 8 Ω.

Is it suitable for voice alarm systems?

Yes. The LRC 1100 is EN 54-24 Type B certified. Use the weather cover, and do not paint the column, in EN 54-24 compliant installations.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. It is weatherised for full outdoor exposure with an IP56c rating.

How is the vertical coverage changed?

Turn the wide / narrow selector on the underside with the Torx end of the supplied key: 20° narrow or 40° wide, both with a 5° downward bias.

Where can I buy the ELECTRO-VOICE LRC 1100 in India?
