Product overview

The FONESTAR NMX-88 is an 8 x 8 audio matrix with DSP, a USB sound card channel, 8 GPIO, echo and feedback cancellation, noise suppression and automatic gain control, in 1 U of a 19 inch rack.

Based on a 40-bit floating point DSP with high processing power (400 MIPS, 1600 MFLOPS), the NMX-88 offers a complete and versatile solution for handling and processing audio signals. It has 8 analogue inputs and 8 analogue outputs, plus a USB sound card input and output channel for playback and recording on a computer or for video calls. The installer configures sound systems with multiple inputs and outputs in powerful modular software, and the end user gets an easy way to control the sound from custom touch screen panels or NMX-WP wall remotes. It suits conference systems and video call rooms, and music systems in restaurants, hotels and shopping centres.

Key features

  • 8 analogue inputs (microphone / line, selectable 48 V phantom) and 8 analogue outputs
  • USB sound card input and output channel
  • Echo Cancellation (AEC), Feedback Cancellation (AFC), Noise Suppression (ANS), Automatic Gain Control (AGC)
  • 5 processing modules per input and 4 per output: expander, compressor, noise gate, priority, filters, delay, crossover, limiter
  • Stereo link, auto mixing, matrix volume assignment and 16 scenes
  • 8 GPIO and PTZ camera tracking control
  • Ethernet, RS-232 and RS-485; UDP, RS-232 and RS-485 protocol
  • Modular configuration software and custom user interface app for touch screens

Conference-grade processing

Echo cancellation for video conferences, feedback cancellation that allows flexible placement of microphones and loudspeakers, noise suppression of stationary noise and automatic gain control work together with auto mixing and priority control.

A different mix for every output

The assignment matrix routes any input to any output with its own volume, so each output can carry a different mix. Two channels can be linked as stereo, and up to 16 scenes can be stored, with auto-save of the last session.

Control for installer and user

The PC software manages several matrices as one system (up to 8 at a time). For users, custom control panels run on touch screens, tablets and smartphones, and up to 20 NMX-WP wall remotes can be assigned to each matrix. UDP, RS-232 and RS-485 integrate the matrix with other control systems and PTZ cameras.
