Product overview
The FONESTAR VULKAN-50 is a low impedance exponential horn speaker from the VULKAN series: 50 W RMS, one compression driver, IP-66 protection and a low impedance (8 Ω) connection directly to the amplifier, for sending messages and warnings over long distances.
FONESTAR created the VULKAN range of horn loudspeakers for the wide range of installations where the sound signal must be sent with maximum efficiency. VULKAN horns are suited to the frequency range of speech and to sending messages over long distances. They are built with materials that are highly resistant to adverse weather, and the IP-66 design protects them against the ingress of dust and water, so they suit outdoor use and marine environments: open spaces, industrial facilities, sports facilities and car parks.

Long-range speech
The exponential horn concentrates the sound of the compression driver for messages, warnings and paging over long distances. The response of 270-6,000 Hz (-10 dB) covers the speech range, and the dispersion is 180°/160° @ 500 Hz, 140°/120° @ 1 kHz, 90°/80° @ 2 kHz, 50°/40° @ 4 kHz (-6 dB).
Direct low impedance connection
The VULKAN-50 is a low impedance (8 Ω) loudspeaker for direct connection to the amplifier in installations where a long cable run is not necessary: white wire to +, black wire to COM.
Built for harsh environments
Materials: diffuser and ABS rear cover with high resistance to sun exposure; aluminium mount; A2 stainless steel screws. IP-66 protection, operation from -25 °C to +55 °C, storage from -40 °C to +70 °C and humidity below 95% make it suitable for factories, sports facilities, hotels, transport stations.
Quick installation
Remove the mount from the horn, fix it to the wall or structure, configure the speaker, connect the cables and fit the horn back on the mount, aiming it at the listening area (official quick start guide).
In the box

Workflow 1: Factory announcements
Paging and warnings across noisy production halls and yards.
Connections
| Connect | To |
|---|---|
| Amplifier, 8 Ω output | White wire (+) and black wire (COM) |
Setup
- Fix the mounts high on walls or columns.
- Connect the horn directly to the amplifier output (8 Ω).
- Aim each horn along the working area.
