Product overview
The MERGING ADA8V3P is an 8-channel mic/line A/D and D/A card for the MERGING HAPI Mk III audio mainframe, Premium version: eight remote-controlled mic/line inputs and eight line outputs, with sample rates up to 352.8 kHz (DXD) and 384 kHz, plus DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256.
The ADA8V3P is a complex input and output card for HAPI Mk III. With eight inputs and eight outputs it offers two-way audio conversion, analogue to digital and digital to analogue, and its remote-controlled mic/line inputs feature the 3rd generation Dual Gain topology, inspired by the exceptional ANUBIS preamps, for the highest audio quality without compromise. With two cards, HAPI Mk III is configured for up to 16 analogue I/O channels. The Premium card has superior specifications, and each Premium card is measured for the highest specifications and smallest tolerances.
| Mic/line inputs and line outputs | 8 + 8 |
| Dynamic range, line inputs (A, typ.) | 139 dB |
| Preamp gain with Boost | 78 dB |
| Up to 384 kHz and DXD | DSD256 |

- Dynamic range of 139 dB (A-weighted, typ.) on the line inputs
- Preamps offer up to 78 dB of gain (with Boost)
- Full remote access for all parameter changes
- Dynamic range of 126 dB (A-weighted, typ.) on the line outputs
- Phantom power, polarity invert, low cut and impedance switchable per channel
- Switch to line level per channel via the display or remotely in a web browser
- Auto-mute circuitry for 'no-pop' power cycling
- Digitally controlled output trims for line-up procedures
- 2 x 25-pin D-Sub connectors
- Sample rates up to 352.8 kHz (DXD) and 384 kHz, plus DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256
Dual Gain preamps
Each of the eight inputs takes microphones or line level sources: mic with pad (+24 dBu max.), mic (+12 dBu) or mic boost (0 dBu), with a software-controlled gain range of 0 to +66 dB in 0.5 dB steps, switchable 48 V phantom power, polarity invert, an 80 Hz low cut filter (-12 dB/octave) and 3 kΩ or 10.4 kΩ input impedance on every channel. The line inputs accept up to +24 dBu for 0 dBFS with a dynamic range of 139 dB (A-weighted, typ.).
Line outputs with trims and roll-off filters
The eight line outputs deliver a maximum level of +24 dBu or +18 dBu for 0 dBFS, selectable in software, with per-channel trims in 0.1 dB steps and polarity for line-up. Four roll-off filters are available: slow (default, with the lowest latency of 9 samples), sharp, apodizing and brickwall. Auto-mute circuitry prevents clicks and pops at power cycling.
Remote control
All parameters are accessible on the OLED display of HAPI Mk III or remotely in a web browser, and the inputs and outputs can be routed in blocks of 8 to any HAPI Mk III output or RAVENNA/AES67 network stream.
DXD and DSD
In DSD, the FPGA of the Premium card adds a sigma-delta modulator after the digital gain and low cut stage and delivers a 1-bit DSD output, for DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256 recording and playback. PCM sample rates reach 352.8 kHz (DXD) and 384 kHz.

MERGING ADA8V3P: frequently asked questions
Which unit does the ADA8V3P fit?
It is an extension card for the MERGING HAPI Mk III audio mainframe and fits either of its two slots; standard and premium cards can be mixed in the same unit.
What is the difference between the ADA8V3S and the ADA8V3P?
The Standard ADA8V3S supports sample rates up to 192 kHz. The Premium ADA8V3P extends this to 384 kHz PCM, DXD and DSD up to DSD256, and every Premium card is individually tested and selected.
How do I connect microphones to the ADA8V3P?
The mic/line inputs and the line outputs each use a female DB-25 connector with the AES59 analogue pinout; a DB-25 to 8 XLR fan-out cable connects microphones or line sources.
Is HAPI Mk III included with the ADA8V3P?
No. The card is an option for HAPI Mk III and is ordered separately.
Where can I buy the MERGING ADA8V3P in India?
The MERGING ADA8V3P is available from Shivansh Electronics, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, with delivery across India.
