Product overview
The MERGING ADO8V3P is an 8-channel mic/line A/D card with 8 analogue direct outs for the MERGING HAPI Mk III audio mainframe, Premium version, with sample rates up to 352.8 kHz (DXD) and 384 kHz, plus DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256.
The ADO8V3P input card is an outstanding addition to HAPI Mk III. With 8 mic/line inputs it delivers a dynamic range of 139 dB (A), and its Swiss designed preamps offer up to 78 dB of gain with exceptional transparency, thanks to the 3rd generation dual gain topology. All parameters of each channel can be adjusted remotely, and the card includes analogue direct outs (post mic preamp) for monitoring or external processing, such as tracking with additional outboard equipment. The Premium card has superior specifications, and each Premium card is measured for the highest specifications and smallest tolerances.
| Mic/line inputs and direct outs | 8 + 8 |
| Dynamic range (A‑weighted, typ.) | 139 dB |
| Preamp gain with Boost | 78 dB |
| Up to 384 kHz and DXD | DSD256 |
Key features
- 8 exceptionally transparent, Swiss designed preamplifiers
- Up to 78 dB of gain (with Boost)
- Remote or local switch to line level on a per channel basis
- Full remote access for all parameter changes
- Phantom power, polarity invert, low cut and impedance switchable per channel
- Removes the need for DI boxes; allows built-in mic splitting
- Direct line out for each channel (post mic preamp)
- Dynamic range of 139 dB (A-weighted, typ.)
- Auto-mute circuitry for 'no-pop' power cycling
- Preamps MIDI remote control support
- 2 x 25-pin D-Sub connectors
- Sample rates up to 352.8 kHz (DXD) and 384 kHz, plus DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256
Dual gain preamps
Each input takes microphones or line level sources: mic with pad (+24 dBu max.), mic (+12 dBu) or boost (0 dBu), with a software-controlled gain range of 0 to +66 dB in 0.5 dB steps and ±0.2 dB precision, switchable 48 V phantom power, phase reverse, an 80 Hz low cut filter and Zlo / Zhi input impedance on every channel.
Analogue direct outs
The DIRECT OUT connector carries a line level, post mic preamp copy of every input. The direct outs offer a fixed level output that reflects the analogue front-end gain (0 dB for line and mic with pad, 12 dB for mic, 24 dB for boost) but not the digital gain values, which are applied to the local signal paths only, so external processors and splits receive a consistent level.
Remote control
All parameters can be set on the OLED display of HAPI Mk III, remotely in a web browser or by MIDI remote control, and the inputs can be routed in blocks of 8 to any HAPI Mk III output or RAVENNA/AES67 network stream.

MERGING ADO8V3P: frequently asked questions
What are the direct outs of the ADO8V3P for?
They provide a line level output of every channel after the mic preamp, for monitoring, external processing with outboard equipment or splitting the microphones to another system.
What is the difference between the ADO8V3S and the ADO8V3P?
The Standard ADO8V3S supports sample rates up to 192 kHz. The Premium ADO8V3P extends this to 384 kHz PCM, DXD and DSD up to DSD256, and every Premium card is individually tested and selected.
Which unit does the ADO8V3P fit?
It is an extension card for the MERGING HAPI Mk III and fits either of its two slots; HAPI Mk III is ordered separately.
Where can I buy the MERGING ADO8V3P in India?
The MERGING ADO8V3P is available from Shivansh Electronics, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, with delivery across India.
Workflow 1: Tracking through outboard equipment
Engineers using external compressors and EQs while recording.
Connections
| Connect | To |
|---|---|
| MIC / LINE IN | 8 microphones |
| DIRECT OUT | Outboard processors |
| Outboard outputs | Another input card or recorder |
Setup
- Fit the card in HAPI Mk III.
- Connect the microphones and set the analogue front-end (line, mic or boost).
- Feed the direct outs to the outboard processors.
- Record the processed and the clean signals.
Tip: The direct outs carry the analogue front-end gain: 0 dB line, 12 dB mic, 24 dB boost.
Workflow 2: Microphone split for two systems
Live recording and broadcast with a second system.
Connections
| Connect | To |
|---|---|
| MIC / LINE IN | Stage microphones |
| DIRECT OUT | Second mixing system |
Setup
- Connect the microphones to the card.
- Feed the direct outs to the second system.
- Record the inputs over the network.
- Adjust digital gains for the recording without affecting the split.
Tip: Digital gain values apply to the local signal paths only, not to the direct outs.
Workflow 3: Studio recording over the network
Music studios recording to a computer.
Connections
| Connect | To |
|---|---|
| MIC / LINE IN | 8 microphones via DB‑25 fan‑out |
| HAPI Mk III network port | Recording computer on RAVENNA/AES67 |
