Product overview
The RME ARC USB (Advanced Remote Control USB) is a wired desktop remote for TotalMix FX with 15 freely assignable, illuminated keys, a large encoder wheel and a footswitch input.
Designed for direct access to the most frequently used actions and commands of TotalMix FX, the ARC USB simplifies workflow and greatly increases the usability of an RME interface in the studio. It is a USB 1.1 MIDI remote control, natively compatible with Windows and Mac: as soon as it is present, TotalMix FX detects it and communicates with it. More than 40 commands can be assigned to its keys, including snapshots, Mono, DIM, Speaker B, Talkback, Cue and phones volume, and the ARC USB can control several interfaces at the same time. The ARC USB is bus powered and, thanks to USB 1.1, works with long USB cables.

No. It is a class compliant USB MIDI device; TotalMix FX detects it automatically on Windows and Mac.
Can it work without a computer?
Yes, with RME interfaces that have an ARC USB connector (Fireface UFX+, UFX II, UFX III, UCX II, 802 FS, MADIface XT II), where it takes fixed stand-alone functions such as setups, phones volume and DURec transport.

Setup
- Connect the ARC USB; TotalMix FX detects it automatically.
- Open Options - ARC & Key Commands, tab ARC USB Settings, or load Default.
- Assign snapshots, DIM, Speaker B and Talkback to the keys.
- Turn the wheel for Main volume; hold shift for 0.1 dB steps.
Tip: Relabel the keys with the included stickers.
Workflow 2: Stand-alone control of a Fireface
Operate a Fireface UFX II, UFX III, UCX II or 802 FS without a computer.

Setup
