The SONODYNE SLX 1008 is a two way passive speaker of the SLX Series with a 8 inch LF and a horn loaded compression driver, in a braced plywood wedge cabinet.

Designed for portable and fixed install PA, the SLX 1008 pairs a high excursion 8 inch LF transducer with a 1 inch horn loaded compression driver in a custom waveguide for constant directivity of 90° x 50°. It handles 100 W continuous, 200 W program and 400 W peak power, reaches a maximum SPL of 112 dB continuous and 118 dB peak and covers 60 Hz - 22 kHz (-10 dB). The bass-reflex cabinet of 15 mm plywood is a wedge with one 45° face, with a 35.5 mm pole socket, 14 M10 suspension points and 4 M10 wall mount inserts.

Compression driver and 8 inch LF

A 1 inch horn loaded compression driver with a 1.1 inch voice coil sits in a custom waveguide that SONODYNE designed for smooth, predictable coverage, 90° horizontally and 50° vertically. Below it, a high excursion 8 inch LF with a 1.5 inch voice coil works in a bass-reflex cabinet.

Wedge cabinet in braced plywood

The enclosure is a wedge with one 45° face, made from 15 mm plywood with heavy internal bracing. SONODYNE notes that select SLX models can be used as wedges for stage monitoring and flown for installation applications. The cabinets are finished in multiple coats of durable stipple paint, with a powder coated perforated grille for optimal transducer protection. The SLX 1008 is black and measures 270 x 445 x 290 mm (W x H x D) at 11.7 kg.
