Product overview

The SONODYNE SLX 1252 is a three way passive speaker of the SLX Series with dual 15 inch LF and a horn loaded compression driver, in a braced plywood trapezoidal cabinet.

Designed for portable and fixed install PA, the SLX 1252 combines two high excursion 15 inch LF transducers with a 1 inch horn loaded compression driver with a 2 inch voice coil in a custom waveguide for constant directivity of 90° x 50°. It handles 1500 W continuous and 6000 W peak power at a nominal 4 Ω, reaches a maximum SPL of 132 dB continuous and 138 dB peak with 100 dB sensitivity and covers 35 Hz - 20 kHz (-10 dB). The bass-reflex cabinet of 15 mm plywood is trapezoidal and stackable.

Compression driver and dual 15 inch LF

SONODYNE describes the SLX 1252 as a passive 3 way, dual 15 inch, bass-reflex speaker. Its HF is a 1 inch horn loaded compression driver with a 2 inch voice coil, in a waveguide that SONODYNE designed for smooth, predictable coverage, 90° horizontally and 50° vertically; two high excursion 15 inch LF transducers with 3 inch voice coils take it down to 35 Hz (-10 dB).

Trapezoidal cabinet in braced plywood

The enclosure is trapezoidal, made from 15 mm plywood with heavy internal bracing, and its mounting option is stackable. SONODYNE finishes the SLX cabinets in multiple coats of durable stipple paint, with a powder coated perforated grille for optimal transducer protection. The SLX 1252 is black and measures 560 x 1416 x 517 mm (W x H x D) at 68 kg.

Connections

The SLX 1252 is passive and is driven from an external power amplifier through its twist-lock input; a twist-lock link connector passes the signal on to a further cabinet. Nominal impedance is 4 Ω.

The SLX Series

The SLX Series is a range of engineered professional loudspeakers for balanced sound and high SPL in both indoor and outdoor applications, comprising full range speakers and subwoofers. Roadworthy and great sounding, the SLX range meets the sound needs for live and recorded performances.
