Product overview
The SONODYNE SM 3200 is a 3 way tri-amplified mid field monitor for larger rooms, with a new 10 inch LF transducer, a 4 inch Kevlar midrange and a 26 mm silk dome tweeter nested in a rotatable waveguide, in an aluminium - MDF hybrid rigid enclosure.
Capable of playing loud and clear, and with excellent detail, the SM 3200 is an ideal reference monitor for larger rooms. Its HF and mids are nested in a rotatable waveguide that, assisted by internal DSP balance, results in exceptional on and off axis response. Dedicated amplifiers deliver 200 W to the woofer and 75 W each to the midrange and tweeter before clipping, for a maximum SPL of 120 dB and a frequency response of 35 Hz - 22 kHz (±2 dB). With the SM 3200, the need for a single monitor for recording and post in a large room is adequately met.
| Maximum SPL at 1 m | 120 dB |
| Frequency response (±2 dB) | 35 Hz - 22 kHz |
| LF + MF + HF amplifier power | 200 + 75 + 75 W |
| PP cone woofer | 10 inch |

Aluminium - MDF hybrid rigid enclosure
The hybrid cabinet combines the strength of aluminium with the acoustic damping of MDF to minimise unwanted resonance. This delivers tighter bass, cleaner transients and a more accurate stereo image. The SONODYNE studio catalogue describes a heavily braced MDF - aluminium hybrid enclosure, finished in black.
Kevlar midrange and rotatable waveguide
The dedicated Kevlar midrange reproduces vocals and instruments with remarkable clarity and natural tonality; its rigid yet lightweight construction ensures excellent transient response and low coloration. A precision-engineered, rotatable aluminium die cast waveguide for mid and high frequency optimises dispersion for consistent off-axis response and a wider listening sweet spot.
3-way tri-amplified design and 3-band acoustic EQ
Dedicated amplifiers for the woofer, midrange and tweeter ensure every frequency is driven with optimum power and precision, for superior clarity, lower distortion and exceptional detail. Three independent EQ controls (2 shelving EQs for LF and HF and 1 bell EQ for MF) and 2 bass roll-offs at 80 Hz and 100 Hz let you tailor the monitor to room acoustics and placement.
High detail and dynamic performance
From the finest sonic nuances to demanding high-level playback, the SM 3200 delivers outstanding resolution, dynamic range and high sound pressure levels without compromising accuracy, making it ideal for critical professional monitoring.
