Product overview

The SONODYNE ZoneMix8 is a eight zone mixer and paging system with USB, Ethernet and RS232 connectivity, from the AUSTRALIAN MONITOR ZONEMIX zoning solutions.

The ZoneMix8 has 8 mono zone outputs and 2 mic / line and 4 line level stereo inputs, plus 1 local input per zone added with audio wall panel inputs. WP10, WP4R and WPVOL wall controllers provide in-zone control of various ZONEMIX functions, paging is added with the ZMPS paging station (up to 16 stations), and the WPBT Bluetooth receiver and the WPML mic / line wall panel add local audio inputs. Software features of the ZONEMIX include a miniDSP, tone generator, message player, priority control, programmable I/O and an in-built scheduler.

Zones, inputs and mixing

Two inputs take a microphone or line source (INPUT 1 and INPUT 2, each with XLR and RCA connectors and a MIC GAIN control at the rear) and four more take stereo line sources on RCA (INPUT 3-6). The zone outputs ZONE 1-8 are on euroblock connectors. Each zone can also take one local input from an audio wall panel such as the WPBT or WPML, up to 8 in all.

Paging, messages and scheduling

Paging is added with the ZMPS paging station, up to 16 per system: each ZMPS can page a single zone, a combination of zones or All Call, and can trigger pre-recorded announcements from an SD card on the ZONEMIX for recurring announcements. The ZONEMIX software adds a tone generator, a message player, multi-stage priority control and an in-built scheduler.

Control and connectivity

The ZoneMix8 connects over USB, Ethernet and RS232, and the ZONEMIX PC control software is free via download. At the rear are the ACCESSORY PORTS (RJ45) with PORT TERM switches, 8 general purpose inputs / outputs (GPIO), a terminal block marked EVAC, ALERT, INTRUDER, BELL, CHIME and GND, the RS232 terminal and the ETHERNET port. The front carries the OUTPUT ZONE, INPUT MIX, PRESETS and VOLUME knobs, the display, the input and zone indicators, an SD CARD slot and the CONFIG USB port.
