The BRICASTI DESIGN I2S Card adds the proprietary BRICASTI DESIGN I2S input to BRICASTI DESIGN D/A converters, for a direct connection to the M19 SACD/CD Reference Transport that lets the DAC work as if it were an integrated part of the transport.

The I2S interface is a proprietary connection designed for use with the BRICASTI DESIGN M19 SACD/CD Reference Transport and BRICASTI DESIGN DACs. When paired, they create an exceptional synergy, with noticeable sonic improvements across the entire sound spectrum, revealing nuances and clarity that elevate the listening experience. The I2S input is available on all models of BRICASTI DESIGN DACs, and existing customers can upgrade their DACs with the I2S card.

I2S timing precision

I2S, or Inter-IC Sound, is an electrical serial bus interface standard for communication between digital audio integrated circuits, such as D/A converters, microcontrollers and digital signal processors, commonly used to carry PCM data between a CD transport and a DAC. The bus uses at least three lines: the bit clock (SCK), which defines the transmission rate, word select (WS), which indicates the left or right channel, and the data line (SD), which carries the audio data MSB first; a master clock (MCLK) is used in some cases. I2S uses no error correction, so the receiver synchronises with the transmitter.

BRICASTI DESIGN D/A converters (all current models, new or as an upgrade) and the BRICASTI DESIGN M19 SACD/CD Reference Transport with its I2S / DSD output. The connection is designed for BRICASTI DESIGN products; other products connect through AES or S/PDIF.
