Product overview
The CHANDLER LIMITED Little Devil EQ is a 500-series English-style console equaliser: capacitor-based Treble and Bass shelves, two inductor-based Mid bands with seven frequencies and a Q switch each, a three-position low cut and hardwire bypass, all discrete class A.
CHANDLER LIMITED's Little Devil modules use all discrete circuits that combine CHANDLER's best designs with classic designs from the past, transformer balanced everything and American handmade quality: discrete amplifiers, inductors and transformers, with no surface-mount parts or ribbon cables. All controls are marked ±1 to 6 in the playful Devil spirit of the concept, and the modules run without problem on any 500-series rack and power supply.

Treble and Bass shelves
The Treble and Bass controls are English-style high and low shelving circuits, capacitor based, with a distinct sound that differs from modern gyrator parametric circuits: the Treble smooth and open, the Bass warm and round. The selectable Bass was tuned for different uses: 60 Hz for a deep, low bass suited to drums and bass guitar, and 110 Hz for a wide sweeping curve that accents mid frequencies as well as bass, excellent for filling out guitars, bass and just about anything else.
Inductor mid bands with Q
The Hi Mid (1k2, 2k7, 3k3, 4k7, 5k6, 6k8, 8k2) and Lo Mid (220, 270, 330, 390, 470, 560, 820 Hz) bands are inductor based. The Q switch on each band sharpens or smooths the peak for a mellow or a more pointed boost and cut, and also changes the amount of overall boost and cut: switch to Hi Q to dig in to the track, or Lo Q for a smoother EQ sound and more resolution.
Low cut and bypass
A three-position filter cuts at 47, 82 or 150 Hz, and the hardwire bypass compares the processed and the original sound.
In the rack
The Little Devil EQ is tested to start up without power errors in common 500-series racks. CHANDLER LIMITED recommends a rack with an external power supply for any 500 module, and a wire from earth to power supply common where the rack allows.
